Sprout Creek Farm is a production farm that raises cows, goats and makes thousands of pounds of cheese a year. It takes all kinds of skills and knowledge to provide care for these animals as well as the other animals that call our farm home. During our Farm Intensive week, campers will not only milk our cows and goats and care for our other animals, but gain a deeper understanding of their needs and what we do behind the scenes. Campers will work alongside our farmers to complete tasks and projects necessary for the running of our farm. They will also get the opportunity to learn about the choices our farmers make for the health of our animals, the maintenance of our land, and the sustainable future of our farm. While learning how to care for our animals, they will gain a deeper understanding and respect for all animals. This week will set the foundation for a lifetime of stewardship as campers learn the importance of looking out for the land and all its inhabitants
In addition to working with our animals and farm staff, campers will have the chance to cook some of their own meals, wade in Sprout Creek, discover the farm and our property on their own terms, meet new people and build lasting friendships. While learning how to care for our animals they will gain a deeper understanding and respect for all animals and this week will set the foundation for a generation of stewards looking out for the land and all its inhabitants.
